SouthWood Community Amenities
Many SouthWood amenities and activities require residents to present their SouthWood photo ID cards for access.

 Community Pool
The SouthWood community offers a  pool area for adult fitness and family swim, tot pool, and also a splash bucket feature attached to a slide and climbing area. These pools are intended for use by SouthWood residents and their guests and are not available to be reserved for private functions. A SouthWood photo ID card is required for entry. The pool area closes in early October and reopens in early April. From the pool opening in April through June 1st, the pool is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. From June 1st until Labor Day, the pool is open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Following Labor Day through the pool closing in October, the pool is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. For a list of pool rules, please click here.

SouthWood’s two lighted tennis courts are located adjacent to the Community Center, overlooking beautiful Central Park. The tennis courts are available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and are intended for use by SouthWood residents and their guests. The tennis courts are not available to be reserved for individual use or group lessons. A SouthWood photo ID card is required for entry. For a list of tennis court rules, please click here.

Community Center
The Community Center is available to SouthWood residents for personal functions. It may also be utilized for nonprofit organizations to host their meetings. In order to rent the facility, residents must submit signed copy of the Community Center Rental Agreement to the SRCA office. For information on rental availability, please contact us.

Tot Lot
This children’s playground area includes slides and climbing equipment and is located just outside the pool area. With benches, nature trails and Central Park nearby, this is a perfect area for families to spend the afternoon. The Tot Lot is managed by the Capital Region Community Development District.

Nature Trails
Using your SouthWood Trail and Nature Guide, explore the four habitat preserves and archaeological sites around the SouthWood community’s 3,300 acres. These meandering trails are a great way to enjoy the scenic outdoors and to stay fit! While out walking, biking, or jogging be sure to look for a wide variety of wildlife including eastern bluebirds, southeastern American kestrels, white-tailed deer, and gopher tortoises.

Community Parks
With over 1,000 acres of green spaces, lakes, ponds and wetlands in the SouthWood community, residents can truly feel connected to nature. The majority of these areas are managed by the Capital Region Community Development District. The Capital Region CDD has released a SouthWood video series to help educate residents on our green spaces and the habitats of the protected species in our community. The parks in SouthWood are intended for casual use such as picnicking, bird watching, walking your dog, etc. To reserve a park for a private function, you must submit a Special Use Application.
